Body. Mind. Spirit
Last week, I shared the endgame and showed some of the game plan I’ve run, to shift awareness to consciousness and empowerment…and I’m not “there” yet.
I think it’s part of our misguided human nature to want to follow or engage with people who have it all figured out, but the reality is…no one does.
It’s one of many illusions that trick our mind’s eye. Here, we don’t prop up the illusion(s)…we help you dissolve it.

Body. Mind. Spirit.
So, ok, I don’t have it all figured out. Actually, I probably have more questions than I have answers.
But, whatever pieces I have put into place came through a process of gradually connecting universally applicable principles with an ever-evolving routine of body-, mind- and spirit-based practices.
I mentioned a month or so back that my Spirit Team has ‘invited’ me to share how I moved from Point A to B to C and beyond. They seem to feel that some of you who are connecting with my posts would value that, so, that’s what I’m doing.
And, at times, it will seem like I’m working in reverse:
a) because I can only connect the dots looking backward (Steve Jobs once said that); and,
b) because I’ve learned that where we think the starting point is, well, it’s actually more like the finish.
The Thing About Recovery Programs
In Alcoholics Anonymous (and many other recovery programs) they hold the Serenity Prayer close;
‘God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
We all probably set out in search of serenity and in my experience, we will find that elusive state when we first learn wisdom, develop courage and acceptance.
Wisdom —> Courage —> Serenity
(if you have found a different path to serenity, I would be honoured if you shared it in a comment below)
Body. Mind. Spirit. I’ll save for another day how much power I think there is when we reduce our critical analysis of something down to three things…for now, I’m focusing my monkey mind, here we go!
– I learned to tune in through body-based practices.
– I learned to get in-sync using mind-based solutions.
– I learned to amplify more using spiritual-based solutions.
Body-based practices. I had to learn FIRST, how to build a solid foundation of trust from within starting with practices that healed my body. I used a lot/mostly of ‘alternative’ modalities; from chiropractors, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, to somatic practices, breathing practices in conjunction with my physical yoga (asana) practices.
I didn’t hit the gym, not that there’s anything wrong with that, I couldn’t at first. I eventually started running and then swapped that for something more gentle on my body — hiking, biking, kayaking.
Mind-based practices. I moved into mind-based practices after I physically FELT better. I can’t emphasize this enough…some of you are carrying so much pain in your body right now, that ‘doing more’ will be completely counter-productive. You need to heal first; then you can expand.
I tried meditation for three years before I healed and the reality is, when you’re learning to incorporate mind-based practices, you need the mind-space to do so. A body that is continually screaming ‘help me’, takes up a lot of space. Once I created that space, I began to settle in and experience the benefits of meditation and my visualizing practices became easier and then, I started to learn about energy, the field and quantum physics! Oh right, and I invested in my Reiki Level 1/2 certification to support mainly myself (and my little pooch-woozer, Ace).
Spiritual-based practices. As I started to really understand what it felt like to be in my body, AND moved beyond the fear of feeling that — yes, we’re all mostly terrified to really be present in our bodies — I was able to use my physical body as a barometer, which it is whether we know that or not. In 2016, I added on to my yoga teacher training, with an immersive experience learning about yoga as a form of therapy, which I still draw on today and has linked the deeper stuff with the surface stuff.
It opened my mind to practices that created a deeper soul conversation, practices like INside OWT, developed Summer Bozohora. I expanded on that with a growing connection to my Spirit Team and eventually, coming to develop my intuitive abilities, which now include reading my ‘soul-story’ through the Akashic records.
THE BRIDGE: There was a particular practice that bridged my body-mind gap. Listening to one of Gregg Braden’s videos, he brought his audience through something called Heart-Brain Coherence™, I won’t do it justice to try and explain it, but you can learn more at the Heart Math Institute.
I started with body-based practices because I needed to build a foundation of awareness…I lived for 30-years in hyper-masculine energy environments, which (sorry guys) does nothing to foster the internal, intuitive dialogue we are mean to have, actually, it does the exact opposite. It left me completely disconnected from my Self, my Creator Soul and the One Spirit.
I ‘graduated’ to mind-based practices which allowed me to build on the foundation; I trust my body to tell me the truth, and I know how to distinguish that for myself. I use every practice to discern what’s real and what’s not real, when to let go and when to lean in AND I’m still learning!
I moved into intuitive/spiritual/energetic-based practices consciously. I felt there was more to practice and as the Universe tends to operate, practitioners literally started popping out of nowhere, who were precisely suited to what I needed next.
Now, this might feel like SO much!
If I had tried to tackle this in a year I would have had a complete meltdown…so I think it’s helpful that I reiterate, this didn’t happen overnight. It happened ONE step at a time.
I did not find a single ‘one-size-fits-all’, cookie-cutter solution.
It took me 13 years and it’s still a work in progress.
I am still a work in progress.
It took me 13 years and before I could make any real progress there was a tremendous amount that I needed to unlearn, and a whole lot of letting go of what I thought I knew.
And, I’m STILL letting go.
Letting go of outdated, inaccurate or plainly deceptive things that I’ve been taught, and relearning the simple truths.
Like, being fully in this human experience and thriving from our Creator Soul…
…has been made so much more complicated that it needs to be.
That’s what we do here. We share pieces of what it took to move from unaware to aware; unconscious to conscious; disempowered to empowered…in our body, mind and spirit.
Creator Soul Journal is a collection of Contributors casting a vision for what happens when we expand our thinking to amplify our journey, and share pieces with others along the way.
